MoonPay Commerce, formerly known as Helio, was founded in 2022 by experienced entrepreneurs and a talented team specialising in crypto and fintech. We rebranded to MoonPay Commerce following MoonPay’s acquisition of Helio in 2025.

### Is MoonPay Commerce Audited?

Yes. MoonPay Commerce (formerly known as Helio) was audited by Ackee Blockchain under the Helio brand. We continue to uphold the same high security standards, maintaining a robust KYC/AML program and performing regular penetration tests and vulnerability assessments to ensure our infrastructure remains secure and compliant.

### Does MoonPay Commerce Custody Funds?

No, MoonPay Commerce does not custody funds. As a technology provider—not an MSB/VASP or money transmitter—we facilitate fully decentralised (100% DeFi) payments on the blockchain. All transactions are peer-to-peer, allowing buyers to pay merchants directly. Funds are never held by Helio, and merchants receive payments instantly in their wallets.

## Refunds & Disputes

### How Can I Get a Refund? Can MoonPay Commerce Help?

For refunds, please contact the merchant directly, as all transactions made on the MoonPay Commerce platform are direct peer-to-peer payments. Once a payment is made, it cannot be reversed or reclaimed by MoonPay due to the blockchain's security and irreversible nature. Therefore, MoonPay is unable to resolve payment disputes.
