MoonPay Commerce, formerly known as Helio, was founded in 2022 by experienced entrepreneurs and a talented team specialising in crypto and fintech. We rebranded to MoonPay Commerce following MoonPay’s acquisition of Helio in 2025.

Does MoonPay Commerce Custody Funds?

No, MoonPay Commerce does not custody funds. As a technology provider—not an MSB/VASP or money transmitter—we facilitate fully decentralised (100% DeFi) payments on the blockchain. All transactions are peer-to-peer, allowing buyers to pay merchants directly. Funds are never held by Helio, and merchants receive payments instantly in their wallets.

MoonPay Commerce supports payments in USDC, SOL, ETH, BTC, and hundreds of other digital currencies. If your token isn’t listed in our drop-down menu, you can pay a fee here to have it added.

How Can I Get a Refund? Can MoonPay Commerce Help?

For refunds, please contact the merchant directly, as all transactions made on the MoonPay Commerce platform are direct peer-to-peer payments. Once a payment is made, it cannot be reversed or reclaimed by MoonPay due to the blockchain’s security and irreversible nature. Therefore, MoonPay is unable to resolve payment disputes.
