Helio offers merchant verification and various safety tools to help you make & accept payments with peace of mind.

Helio is a decentralised protocol, which means funds flow directly from the user to the merchant's wallet. Transactions are secured by the blockchain and can't be reversed. Before purchasing on Helio Pay Links, always check that the merchant can be trusted with our easy to use safety features below.

Merchant Verification

You can verify your Helio account (KYC) in a few simple steps. Log-in to the dashboard, Settings -> Account Settings. Complete a few fields, link your X account and verify via our partner Sumsub in a few simple steps.

Complete a few fields, save settings & hit verify account to start the KYC process. You'll be verified within 24 hours.

Merchants benefit from a "Verified badge" on Helio checkouts while buyers are shown a warning message when purchasing from unverified merchants.

We're unable to verify projects that are running a token (pre) sales.

Wallet Transparency

For unverified merchants, users can look up the recipient wallet address in real-time from the Helio checkout page with a single click on the Recipient badge to check the trustworthiness of the merchant.

Report a suspicious link

Report a suspicious link to the Helio team directly from the checkout page or report the link in a dedicated channel in our Discord. Our security operations monitor and shut down suspicious links and blacklist wallets 24x7 using automated tools based on heuristics, as well as reports.

Pay Link authentication

We offer authentication options for Pay Links such as Discord SSO, NFT gating or passwords. This helps merchants lock down payments to a targeted and intended customer audience.

Unique URLs (aka slugs)

Merchants can use unique URLs such as hel.io/x/Customername to help customers recognise that the Pay Link belongs to them.

Payment disputes / refunds

If you would like a refund, please contact the merchant directly. We've made it very easy for merchants to refund directly from the Helio dashboard.

Transactions made with cryptocurrency on the Helio platform are direct peer-to-peer transfer from the customer to the merchant. Please note that once payment is sent, there's no way for Helio to reverse the transaction or reclaim funds on your behalf. As a result, we are unable to resolve any payment disputes as the transactions are secured by the blockchain and irreversible.
